Here’s a new one from Australia’s Jakubi. Couch Potato is the fourth, and possibly best tune we’ve heard from the band in the past year or so, and it’s a catchy, groovy affair. As before, there’s an abundance of soul and jazz on the pop flavored tune. It’s as smooth as they come. According to Jakubi, the song is about a girl (Couch Potato), who, in her father’s eyes, has her head in the clouds. Her relaxed view on life makes her father frustrated, but life is all about having fun and doing things at your own pace. The song exudes that carefree charm very well.
This will be Jaukubi’s fourth official single release since the band’s official unveiling about a year ago, and since its inception, these guys have put out nothing but gold. Songs like “Holiday” and “Can’t Afford It All” are objectively great tracks, but it’s the uniqueness of their sound that’s really…
